Graduated from Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona Veterinary school in 2004. Holds an MSc in Aquatic Veterinary Studies (University of Stirling) during which he completed a project on Red Mark Syndrome in trout. Albert has worked as a field aquatic animal veterinarian and fish pathologist in Ireland alongside Dr. Hamish Rodger (Vet-Aquat International) and in Spain with Dr. Francesc Padrós (SDPP – UAB). His professional experience also includes R&D related activities in the Catalan Aquaculture Network (XRAq).
Graduated from Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona Veterinary school in 2003. Gloria has a Masters in Veterinary Research which she completed with a project on the sparid fish intestinal parasite Enteromyxum leei. She has worked for private veterinary laboratories as a veterinarian pathologist carrying out a significant amount of work on fish. Her expertise includes a wide variety of diagnostic tools: histopathology, citology, microbiology, mollecular biology and clinical biochemistry. Her professional experience also includes working in the pathology laboratory at Skretting (Spain).

Histology and Citology:
Processing and staining of tissue samples. Citological and histopathological analysis. Histochemical and specific stains (PAS, GRAM, Giemsa, Z-N, Calcofluor). Digital slide scanning service is available.
Endocrinology and Clinical Biochemistry:
Detection of serum determinariation of biochemical parameters. Detection of cortisol in water samples.
Necropsy and subsequent parasitological, microbiological and histopathological examination.
Detection of pathogens by molecular tools (e.g. PCR for Nodavirus, Enteromyxum leei).
We also provide assistance and techniques for R&D projects such as electron microscopy, mathacrylate processing, morphometric anaysis and slide scanning services for digital pathology.
Cultivation, Identification and screening for antibiotic susceptibility.
We provide advice for veterinarians and other fish health personnel.
Determination of hemoglobin, hematocrite and blood smear studies (differential counts, identification of haematological parasites, etc.).
